If you have the experience and motivation and time to commit to the important work of the ADA DHF, please indicate your interest in these voluntary positions.

The ADA Dental Health Foundation (ADA DHF) is seeking to recruit and appoint suitably experienced and skilled people to be part of its Advisory Board (Board). If you have the experience and motivation and time to commit to the ADA DHF, we would love to hear from you. All positions are voluntary.

Founded in 2008 and previously known as the ADA Foundation and the Australian Dental Health Foundation, the foundation was rebranded as the ADA DHF in September 2023. The ADA DHF activities include funding programs that deliver essential dental treatment to disadvantaged Australians who cannot easily access or afford dental care, community based Indigenous Study Grants and oral health education projects.

Board governance and prerequisites
 

All Board members should have:

- The skills and ability to contribute to the strategic direction of the ADA DHF.

- The ability to contribute to the ADA DHF’s profile and growth through leveraging their existing networks and helping to develop new ones.

- Highly developed communication skills and the ability to work with a range of stakeholders.

- An excellent understanding and experience of good practice relating to governance of organisations.

- Experience and skillset in philanthropy including donating time to charitable causes as well as improving the wellbeing of the community; and

- Preferably exposure to NFP sector.

Responsibilities include:

- Attending and making significant contributions to Advisory Board meetings and other key activities.

- Provide expertise in the Advisory Board’s decision making; and

- Ensure that decisions reflect and enhance the ADA DHF’s Purposes, strategic plan, governance practices, financial position, and legal obligations.
