We are here to support you during every step of your professional career. As your professional association, a committee structure exists to ensure that policies, services, and strategies are administered through the Branch Team. The Association is led by a voluntary member-elected Branch Council, whose role it is to facilitate all business relating to South Australian Members.
The Council appoints a Chief Executive Officer, who, with the Branch Team, delivers the wide range of services that assist members in their day-to-day practice of dentistry. The Council also ensures that the objects of the Branch are met, namely:
The Australian Dental Association SA Branch Inc was formed in 1927 by an amalgamation of the Odontological Society and the Registered Dentists’ Society.
The business of the Branch will be governed by the Council, which will comprise of a President, Vice President, Treasurer and 5 - 10 Councillors.
The Branch Council will establish each Standing Committee, as specified in By Law 9 of the Australian Dental Association South Australian Branch Inc Constitution.
The Branch Constitution and By Laws outline the fundamental principles and means by which the Australian Dental Association South Australian Branch is governed, and membership is exercised.
The Branch President speaks for the Council and Branch. The President is a member of Council, not part of management and does not have a day-to-day operational role in the organisation.
The Branch Awards Committee consider and recommend suitable persons to Council for Life, Distinguished Service and Award of Merit.
