Dr Scott Davis maintains that dentists are behaving responsibly around the issue and have not contravened Ahpra rules around dentists advertising.

Following a call by Private Healthcare Australia boss Dr Rachel David for rules to be tightened around superannuation so people cannot access it early to pay for dental treatments, ADA President Scott Davis has responded in an ABC Radio Brisbane interview assuring listeners that dentists are behaving responsibly and that in all the online examples he'd seen, none contravened AHPRA rules around dentists' advertising.

He also observed that if the Government funded dental adequately, fewer people would need to access their super ahead of time. Dentists are only allowed to approve cases for early super access, Dr Davis added, where the patient has shown to be in pain, can't eat or their condition is in other ways is affecting their quality of life.
