Course Information
This evidence based course covers how to identify and assist those who may be experiencing issues with their mental health. Course participants learn about the signs and symptoms of common and disabling mental health conditions and how to use a systematic approach to effectively assist those who are experiencing a mental health crisis. It also covers strategies that have proven to be effective in treating and managing mental health conditions, as well as how and where to access professional help.
This a two-day course: Thursday 18 and Friday 19 September

Psychosis
Substance abuse
Mental health crisis situations covered include:
Suicidal thoughts and behaviours
Non-suicidal self-injury Panic attacks
Traumatic events
Severe effects of drug or alcohol use
Severe psychotic states
Aggressive behaviours
