Presented by Dr Evan Jones the two days will combine in-depth lectures with practical hands-on training, this course equips practitioners with evidence-based techniques for atraumatic extractions, grafting protocols, and soft tissue management.
Participants will learn key principles around extraction site management, graft material selection, flap design, and immediate implant placement—including implant selection, drilling protocols, and immediate restoration.
Hands-on sessions include working with models and pig jaws to practise tooth sectioning, grafting, suturing, soft tissue harvesting, and fabrication of custom healing abutments.
- Minimising trauma during extractions
- Socket debridement techniques for large apical areas and draining sinuses
- When to graft and when to place immediate implants
- Management of oro-antral communications with socket preservation
- Understanding the benefits and limitations of synthetics, xenografts, allografts and autogenous bone.
- Understanding the benefits and limitations of synthetic and xenograft membranes
- Principles of wound closure
- Soft tissue management in socket preservation including use of pedicle flaps and free gingival flaps to close sites
- Principles of immediate implant placement including implant selection and drilling protocols in anterior sites, posterior mandible and maxilla, as well as simultaneous sinus lifting
- Jump gap grafting principles and requirements
- Soft tissue management in immediate cases
- Immediate restoration principles
- Custom healing abutment fabrication
